HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. - Julie Schenecker, the woman accused of killing her only two children for mouthing off, is receiving stacks of mail at the Hillsborough County Jail these days. Some letters are from sympathizers and some are threatening. Colonel Jim Previtara, who runs the jails, reads the postmarks, “Iowa, Missouri, New Mexico, and we have to screen all of it.” When mail is delivered for high-profile inmates like Scheneker, it’s reviewed by Col. Previtara, and a psychiatrist, as well as the legal staff.
