Accused Ponzie Artist Moving To Prison Hospital |

TEXAS, USA (CMC) — United States prison officials have confirmed that Allen Stanford, who is accused of running a multi-billion dollar Ponzie scheme, is being moved to a prison hospital three weeks after a judge made the ruling. The US Bureau of Prisons said that Stanford is "in transit", after more than a year at the Federal Detention Centre in Houston. The trip to Butner, North Carolina is expected to take several days, prison officials said. Stanford, 60, has pleaded not guilty to 21 criminal counts in an alleged US$7 billion Ponzi scheme allegedly carried out through his Antigua-based bank. He is being held without bail at the detention centre after US District Judge David Hitner ruled he is a flight risk. Read More. |
