(AP) - The Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections' request for information on how much it would cost to operate two north Louisiana prisons has generated some interest. A New Orleans newspaper reported six groups have responded to the request. Gov. Bobby Jindal has proposed selling state-owned prisons in Allen and Winn parishes, each of which have been appraised at $33 million, to companies that would also operate the facilities. Read More. |
