| KS DOC Ready For Hit From Budget Cuts |

Community Corrections director Annie Grevas told Saline County commissioners Tuesday that she would cut services before eliminating staff if the projected cuts in state allocations that support the agency become reality. Kansas Department of Corrections officials have told community corrections agencies to prepare for an 11 percent cut in their agency allocations for the fiscal year starting July 1, based on Gov. Sam Brownback's budget proposal. That reduction would amount to a little less than $94,000 for Grevas' agency, which provides services in Saline and Ottawa counties. The agency supervises adult and juvenile offenders who would otherwise be incarcerated in state facilities.
