Police Chase Ends In Fugitive Arrest |

ORANGETOWN – A Michigan man, who led police on a chase that began early Saturday morning on Route 80 in Roxbury, New Jersey, is under arrest in Rockland County after being stopped on the Orangetown side of the Tappan Zee Bridge. Roxbury Police turned over the chase to New Jersey State Police, who pursued the vehicle being driven by Joseph Reiner, 27, of Fraser, Michigan. Police chased him to the New York State line where New York troopers from the Tarrytown barracks picked up the pursuit until he was stopped on the Tappan Zee Bridge. Reiner was determined to be a fugitive from justice from the state of Michigan based on a violation of parole warrant. He was also a person of interest in at least three separate home invasions in Michigan. During one, a 69-year-old woman was assaulted causing serious physical injuries.
