Walton County’s Department of Corrections is looking to cash in on its captive audience as one of its many ways to offset budget shortfalls. Inmate visitation from the 584-bed facility is administered via closed-circuit teleconferencing. There are 28 stations for visitors and 16 monitors located in each of the inmates’ housing pods. So why not show commercials to family members and inmates waiting to connect? “We can upload a .jpg file and scroll as regular and as often as we want,” said Director Maj.
