Newly charged with receiving 13 pounds of marijuana by mail, Big Coppitt Key resident Jason C. Dascott has seen worse legal trouble. In 1998, Dascott, now 31, faced the possibility of a death sentence stemming from his part in the Thanksgiving Day slayings of three people in Palm Beach County. He eventually pleaded guilty to three counts of second-degree murder and agreed to testify against a co-defendant now serving a life sentence for the murders of two men and a woman, all shot to death with a .45-caliber handgun.
