WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- A correctional officer was stabbed in the face with an ink pen at the Washington State Penitentiary on Tuesday night. The officer called for help on his radio after being stabbed in the prison's Adams Unit, a mental health unit, at around 6:45 p.m., a Department of Corrections spokesperson said. Three nearby officers responded and found the victim bleeding profusely from stab wounds to the face. Two inmates were also at the scene.
