On a warm Sunday in September 2009, Dave Rednour, now the warden of the Menard Correction Center, joined then state treasurer and Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Alexi Giannoulias for a day of bass fishing at a private pond near Percy. Rednour, 35, of Percy, who was a prison administrator at the time, was off work on total temporary disability, recovering from surgery to correct repetitive trauma injuries he said occurred on the job.
