Charges Filed In HIV Transmission Case |

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. (KMOV) -- St. Clair County's State Attorney Brendan Kelly announced Thursday a charge of Criminal Transmission of HIV has been filed against Zachary Forest. Police say Forest, 36, of East St. Louis, knowingly spread the virus to a 22-year-old woman. A warrant for Forest’s arrest was signed by Honorable Judge Jan V. Fiss, and bond for the suspect was set at $700,000. Forest is still at large. Criminal Transmission of HIV is a class 2 felony and carries a sentencing range of between three and seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
