Man Wanted After Police Attempt To Serve Warrant |

EDMOND — Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a violent felon who is currently on the run after deputies attempted to serve an arrest warrant for him, a spokesman said. Mark Myers, spokesman for the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, said deputies are searching for Michael W. Colbert, 44, who is facing a warrant on complaints of rape, sodomy, assault and battery and kidnapping. At 2:30 p.m. Thursday, deputies attempted to serve a warrant for the suspect in the 2100 block of N.E. 22nd St. in Oklahoma City, Myers said. When the suspect saw deputies he took off running and was last seen in a field just east of Martin Luther King Avenue and N.E. 23rd Street, he said. The suspect was convicted of assault and/or battery with a dangerous weapon in 1991, and convicted of two counts of shooting with intent to kill, two counts of violating a victms’ protection order, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in 1999.
