Parolee May Be Victim In CA Theft Case |

LOS ANGELES - A parole agent with the California Department of Corrections is being prosecuted for allegedly stealing money from a parolee while she was behind bars, the District Attorney's Office revealed today. Robert Earl Wilson surrendered to authorities on Wednesday at the downtown Los Angeles courthouse on one count each of embezzlement by a public officer and grand theft by embezzlement. The 53-year-old defendant pleaded not guilty and was released on his own recognizance. Wilson allegedly took more than $3,000 from a female parolee who authorized him, while she was incarcerated, to withdraw funds from her bank account to put money into her jail account last year.
