Police Narrow In On Wanted Sex Offender |

An "extremely dangerous and violent" sex offender wanted by the state Department of Corrections has been spotted near Rosedale Shopping Center and the area of Larpenteur Avenue and Dale Street since absconding from a halfway house in St. Paul last week, the department said in a release today. Officials said Eugene Glaraton, 42, cut off his electronic ankle bracelet and disappeared Feb. 20, days after his release from the state prison in Lino Lakes. The department issued a warrant for his arrest this week. Glaraton had been incarcerated for failing to register as a sex offender, his second such conviction since 2007. He was convicted in 1987 of raping and fondling a 15-year old boy. Glaraton was last seen with a shaved head and gray mustache and goatee. He is white and has blue eyes, is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds. Read More. |
