(WSB Radio) -- Two Atlanta men have been caught trying to steal 52 cases of beer in the back of a U-Haul truck. The Daily Tribune in Cartersville reports the men apparently swiped the beer from a tractor-trailer parked a truck-stop on Cass White Road. Witnesses called police early Friday after they saw the men carrying the boxes from the big-rig to the U-Haul truck, the Bartow County sheriff's office told the newspaper. Deputies arrived as the men were driving away. They ran during a traffic stop, but were later arrested, the reported said. Richard Lee Matthews, 45, and Jan Keith Glass, 43, both of Atlanta, face numerous charges, according to Sheriff Clark Millsap. Matthews was being held on a $6,000 bond. Glass is being held on a state parole violation. Read More. |
