| Missouri Man Admits To Role In Fatal Crash |

St. Louis, Missouri (KSDK)-- A guilty plea from a north St. Louis man involved in a police chase in north St. Louis County that eventually made its way into the midtown area of the city where it all ended with a fatal crash involving an innocent motorist. His actions have resulted in a prison term of 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. 20 year old Markel Levonne Davis pleaded guilty Monday to charges of murder, armed criminal action, resisting arrest, tampering with a motor vehicle, and leaving the scene of an accident in the July 2009 incident that claimed the life of 24 year old Erick Russell. Russell was crossing the intersection of Grand and Cass when his car was broadsided by the stolen car Davis was driving. A police helicopter had the Davis vehicle under surveillance from a helicopter, after Davis had eluded police who had given chase earlier in the evening from Charlack and Brentwood. Read More. |
