MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - An inmate who escaped while doing some road work today is still on the run tonight. It happened on Highway 231 and Highway 79 near the Marshall-Blount County line. William Carter Gron was working with an 8-man crew when he took off. He was wearing a white department of corrections uniform. Gron was 8 years into a 16-year sentence for theft in Baldwin County.
