| Prison Needs Funding To Pay Overtime |

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Missouri House Budget Committee wants the Department of Corrections to make several changes in the way it spends its funding in the next fiscal year. In a budget proposal released Tuesday, the committee calls for an increase of about $2.7 million to fund overtime for department employees. That's about $1 million more than Gov. Jay Nixon requested in his proposed budget for the fiscal year that starts July 1. It also exceeds the amount the department requested. Read More. |
