CHICOPEE - A decade ago, Jason Foreman’s relatives worked the sidewalks, bus stops and shopping centers across Rhode Island, collecting signatures to keep his killer in prison. With each encounter, they explained that Michael Woodmansee – the South Kingstown, R.I., man who killed the 5-year-old boy and kept his skull and shellacked bones as trophies – was up for another parole hearing. "We had 15 or 20 boxes of signatures, filled to the brim,” said Raven Aubin, 45, of Chicopee, recalling the successful campaign against her brother’s killer. “Nobody wanted him back on the street.” Now, the family is mobilizing again, using Facebook and other media, after learning that Rhode Island prison officials plan to release Woodmansee this summer, 12 years before the end of his 40-year sentence.
