| Jail officers accused of illegal sex with females inmates |

Two correction officers have been charged with misconduct, stemming from alleged sexual abuse of female inmates. Twenty-seven year-old Mortimer Stimers was charged with misconduct, sexual abuse and committing a criminal sexual act. Thirty-three year-old Michael Wheeler was charged with official misconduct for the allegations which date back to November of 2002. Both men are due back in Columbia County Court in October. |
