Legal System Favors MO Sex Offender |

Independence, MO — In June 2010, police from several agencies swept down on dozens of registered sex offenders throughout much of Jackson County in an effort to update and confirm the county’s sex offender data base. One address was 415 W. Farmer St. in Independence, the home of Randy Lande, a former Belton, Mo., man. He was charged last month with six counts of forcible sodomy and one count of kidnapping of an 8-year-old girl. Court documents say that on Feb. 3, Lande repeatedly raped and sodomized the girl to the point that she had to be hospitalized and required surgery for internal bleeding and wounds on her head.
