Man With Violent Past Accused Of Threatening Remarks |

A Raleigh man with a 1990 conviction for manslaughter was arrested over the weekend after police said he threatened to kill a woman and then sliced her across the stomach with a knife. Roy McLean, 47, was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, according to arrest warrants filed in the Wake County Magistrate's Office. Raleigh police said McLean threatened to kill Doris Badgett with a knife on Friday, then cut her across the stomach. When Badgett ran to a neighbor's home to get help, police said McLean assaulted the neighbor, Sharod Small, with a knife.
