Former officer pleads guilty

A former corrections officer accused of inappropriate contact with female inmates pleaded guilty Thursday to official misconduct.

Elias Dario Fortoso, 31, will serve 20 weekends in the Kane County Jail as part of the felony conviction. He also will be required to complete 2½ years of sex offender probation and pay a $500 fine plus court costs, Assistant Appellate Prosecutor Lorinda Lamken said.

Lamken, who was appointed to prosecute the case at the defense’s request last year, said Fortoso asked the inmates to expose their breasts.
