Camden man guilty of biting jail officer |

A 26-year-old Camden man was convicted Thursday of biting a chunk out of the cheek of a corrections officer at the Camden County Jail. Bernard Jenkins, of the 700 block of Powell Court, was convicted of aggravated assault, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and subjecting a law enforcement officer to body fluids, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office. He faces up to 20 years in prison at his sentencing scheduled for May 6. Authorities said Jenkins bit a corrections officer after two officers went to his cell on June 27, 2008, because he was kicking and banging on his cell door. Read More. |
