COLDWATER, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) -People in Branch County are worried about job losses as the state announces plans to close a prison in June. More than 200 people work at the Florence Crane Correctional Facility in Coldwater. Today state Representative Ken Kurtz, state Senator Bruce Caswell and members of a House Appropriations Committee will tour the prison. Representative Kurtz is fighting to keep it open. He has asked the director of the Michigan Department of Corrections to review the decision. Read More. |
