An inmate who escaped from the East Baton Rouge Parish prison (La.) last weekend was caught while visiting a relative in Texas, authorities said last Monday. Police in Port Arthur arrested Willie Francois, 21, after getting a tip from East Baton Rouge Parish authorities. "We called out there due to tips from friends and family that he has a grandmother there he's close to," said Deputy Michael Crawford, spokesman for the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office. Francois was a kitchen trusty at the jail. He disappeared on July 24. Francois had been in jail since last month, booked with unauthorized use of a vehicle, switching license plates, and resisting an officer. |
