| Sheriff Bellotti Praises Officers on National Cerification |

DEDHAM, MA, March 31, 2011 – With five more correction officers earning their national certification, Norfolk County Sheriff Michael G. Bellotti is pleased to announce that the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office continues to have more American Jail Association (AJA) certified jail officers than any other correctional facility in the nation. Lt. Tim Cahill and Officers Tom Brady, Rick Bryan, Brian Jenkins and Ali McGrail are the latest group of correction officers to earn the prestigious AJA certification. A total of 35 officers from the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office are AJA-certified. The Broward Sheriff’s Office in Broward County, Fla., and the Allegan County (Mich.) Sheriff’s Department are next in line with 24 apiece. “We place the highest emphasis on training and certification,” Sheriff Bellotti said. “By doing so, we are able to embrace the latest and best methods and practices in the corrections field. The citizens of Norfolk County can be very proud of the men and women representing them as correction officers.” Nine members of the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office staff have earned certification as correctional health professionals by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care, and three more NCSO staffers are waiting to hear results after recently taking the certification test.
