CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Sissonville man is in jail after allegedly trying to rob a man in North Charleston late Sunday.

Nathan Allen Stewart, 25, allegedly burst into the Sixth Avenue home of David Cadle, 56, with another man at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday, waved a gun and demanded money, according to Sgt. Eric Hodges of the Charleston Police Department.

During a struggle with Cadle, Stewart allegedly pulled the trigger of his revolver, firing a shot, Hodges said.

No one was hit by the bullet. Police arrested Stewart a short time later and charged him with burglary and first-degree robbery, but Hodges said the other man, described only as a white male, got away.
