GLEED, Wash. - A man is in custody Saturday for entering a home through a "dog door" and taking Yakima County Sheriff's deputies on a car chase that ended Friday night after his car stopped running.

YSO responded to a call about a potential burglary around 5:00 p.m. on Friday on Valley View Road. Neighbors told deputies they say the suspect enter through the home's animal entrance and he was driving a small, dark-colored sedan.

The suspect sped past deputies as they were arriving on scene at a high rate of speed moving toward Gleed. YSO drove after him and the suspect turned onto a private dirt road that was severely damaged. As they continued to chase him, deputies noticed pieces of the suspect's car flying into the air.

The chase ended near Selah after the suspect could no longer operate his car. Deputies found many of the items stolen from the Valley View Road home inside the sedan.
