GOLDEN VALLEY — For the second time in as many months, Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a woman for attempting to smuggle contraband into a Golden Valley prison. Deputies arrested Christina Marie Cisneros, 33, of Mesa, Saturday on 17 counts of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of marijuana, and 18 counts of promoting prison contraband, all felonies. At approximately 8:28 a.m., deputies responded to the Arizona State Prison at 4626 English Drive in reference to a visitor bringing contraband to the prison. According to Sheriff’s Office reports, a corrections officer at the prison informed deputies that a K-9 unit had alerted his handler to a purse belonging to a visitor identified as Cisneros. The officer reported that a balloon believed to contain heroin was located inside the purse. Deputies contacted Cisneros and asked her about the balloon, to which she allegedly said that a man had given her the drugs. The balloon’s contests tested positive for heroin, at which point Cisneros was taken into custody and transported to the Mohave County Jail in Kingman. Upon further investigation, deputies found Cisneros to be in possession of approximately 49 grams of marijuana as well as additional heroin, which, combined with the contents of the balloon, totaled 63 grams. Cisneros was booked into the jail without further incident. Read More. |
