Sex offender to be released after latest prison stay |

A Sheboygan sex offender sent back to prison three times for violating the terms of his release will return to Sheboygan this week after completing his most recent sentence, court records show. Anthony J. Masta, 40, will be released Tuesday to a Wisconsin Department of Corrections halfway house in Sheboygan, according to the Sheboygan Police Department. The temporary living facility is located at 1123 N. 14th St. Masta was convicted of fondling an 11-year-old boy in 2002, receiving an initial prison sentence of three years on a felony count of first-degree sexual assault, court records show. He was released to extended supervision after that sentence, but sent back to prison after repeated rules violations. Masta was sentenced in March 2006 to an additional 17 months in prison after allegedly fondling and attacking his roommate at a Sheboygan halfway house. Later violations led to an additional year in April 2008 and an additional two years and two months in June 2009. The 2009 sentence came after Masta attacked a guard while being held in the Sheboygan County jail, a criminal complaint said. Read More. |
