Kaemingk is now corrections head |

Denny Kaemingk took over as South Dakota's secretary of corrections Monday. He oversees the state's adult prison system, parole and juvenile corrections system. Kaemingk replaces Tim Reisch, who was named as state adjutant general and secretary of the military. Kaemingk's first day of work coincides with Correctional Employees Week as proclaimed by Gov. Dennis Daugaard in honor of the more than 800 staff members in the Department of Corrections, who provide the supervision of more than 3,400 adult inmates, 2,900 parolees and nearly 800 juvenile offenders in placement and on aftercare.
