Johnson County considers jail, courthouse plans

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Johnson County supervisors are considering whether to ask voters next year to approve a $39 million project to build a new jail and expand the courthouse.

A board committee on Wednesday discussed the draft of a document to solicit firms to design the project, which could go before voters in August 2012 or November 2012.
