A man being held on drug charges at a correctional facility in Stockton escaped the facility Sunday afternoon and was still being sought by authorities Monday.

Christopher John Anderson, 33, was a minimum security inmate at the Norton Correctional Facility-East Unit in Stockton.

Anderson was sentenced in March in Marshall County for intent to manufacture methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. His earliest release date is recorded as May 28, 2014, on the Kansas Department of Corrections website.

Corrections staff verified that Anderson had escaped about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, according to a statement from the Norton Correctional Facility.

Any escaped inmate should be considered potentially dangerous, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections website.

The department of corrections asks that anyone with information about Anderson call the correctional facility, (785) 425-6745, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, 1-800-572-7463, or local law enforcement.

Anderson is described as white, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 199 pounds, with black hair and blue eyes. He has tattoos of barbed wire and a dragon on his lower left arm, a heart and flames on his upper left arm, "DOT" on his left hand, an eye and teardrop on his lower left leg, and a skull and "HD" on his upper right leg.
