Inmates help clean up Bellevue Cemetery |

The Bellevue Cemetery is getting a facelift with the help of inmate work crews from the Correctional Alternative Center on Marston Street. The inmates have been working at the cemetery for the past three Saturdays, cutting grass and trimming back weeds. The crews, supervised by Essex County Deputy Sheriffs, work from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., said Paul Fleming, department spokesman. "They are clearing as much debris from the cemetery as possible in the time they have to work there," Fleming said.
