A prison escapee who stole an Oregon Department of Corrections truck was arrested Wednesday during a traffic stop. Oregon State Police arrested David Olvera Martinez, 44, after he was spotted driving a vehicle without a license plate and failing to use a seat belt. The traffic stop happened around 11:50 a.m. on Portland Road NE near Interstate 5. Martinez had earlier walked away from an inmate work crew on the Oregon State Penitentiary grounds, stealing a DOC pickup to make his escape, said Oregon State Police Lt. Gregg Hastings. Read More. |
