Cuts turn off electronic monitors in Garland Co. |

Electronic monitoring of convicts in Garland County has been shut down because of budget cuts. County Sheriff Larry Sanders told The Sentinel-Record that he's run out of money for the program that allows inmates to be released and their movements are tracked by the electronic monitor placed on their ankle. He says those whose monitors are removed are not considered dangerous and will be given a citation to show up in court - then released. Read More. |
