Wardens have freed the wrong man in an embarrassing mix-up, it has emerged. A 43-year-old dealer of stolen goods was set to walk free after having served his term at Josefstadt prison in Vienna. However, jail officials released a fellow inmate, a 31-year-old man. The serial robber managed to get out by simply posing as the person set to walk free. Officials admitted today (Tues) that the man managed to convince wardens that he was the person allowed to leave by giving the name and date of birth of his cellmate. The incident occurred last month, according to reports. Josefstadt prison decision-makers were forced to let the 43-year-old man go too over a lack of evidence that he was part of the plot.
