CONCORD - Antoine Bell-Rogers, partner of cop killer Michael Addison, was indicted for punching a state prison guard in the head. A Merrimack County grand jury on Friday indicted Bell-Rogers, 25, on a charge of assault by a prisoner accusing him of the Dec. 10 attack on Cpl. Michael Sampson at the New Hampshire State Prison. At the time of the alleged assault, prison spokesman Jeffrey Lyons said the officer suffered a bruise and was taken to a local hospital. Sampson returned to work that night, he said. Bell-Rogers went on a 2006 crime spree with Addison spanning 23 days that included a string of robberies and ended with Addison shooting and killing Manchester Police Officer Michael Briggs, 35. Addison was sentenced to death and is appealing his conviction. Bell-Rogers was never charged in connection with Briggs' murder but in 2008 he was convicted of several felonies, ranging from reckless conduct to first-degree assault stemming from his and Addison's crime spree. He was sentenced to 60 to 120 years in prison. Read More. |
