DOC Prepared for Challenges Ahead |
By Connecticut Department of Correction |

Despite the economic realities and shared sacrifice being felt across the State of Connecticut and within its agencies, the Connecticut Department of Correction is committed to protecting the public by maintaining safe, secure and orderly facilities, and providing opportunities, that support the rehabilitation, restitution and successful community reintegration. “While my agency, like all others, has been affected by lay-offs and the closing of facilities, we have not and will not take any steps that compromise the integrity of our institutions,” said Commissioner Leo C. Arnone. The family and friends of inmates may have a more difficult time in contacting their loved one’s counselors for information, due to increased caseloads. Additionally, inmates may be moved around the system to different correctional facilities as the agency manages its population. The department appreciates the patience of inmate families in this regard and offers assistance that is available every business day. Information about inmates and their current locations, as well as a array of additional agency details are always available on the agency’s website at www.ct.gov/doc. Additionally, the department’s Public Information Office can be reached from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 860-692-7780 or via e-mail at doc.pio@po.state.ct.us. |
