Authorities in New Jersey say an off-duty Essex County corrections officer was shot dead in her car, shortly after she left a social club. Acting County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray says 32-year-old Debora Ferreira of Irvington was shot just before 3 a.m. Sunday in downtown Newark. She was unresponsive and was taken to University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead a short time later. Read More. |
