Former Hospital Employee Charged With Taking Inmate's Medicine

Being around the criminal system is not new for Timothy Fairchild who worked at the Minnehaha County, S.D., Jail  for many years. But today he's on the other side, accused of taking a prescription of Dexamphetamine, also which acts like speed if inhaled, originally prescribed to an inmate. Fairchild worked at the Minnehaha County Jail as medical staff through Avera McKennan.
Allegedly caught outside the facility with the drugs last October, the hospital tells Keloland News he left its staff in April. Minnehaha officials stress that Fairchild wasn't found in the jail with the drug.
Fairchild also had a disorderly conduct conviction from June 2002.
