| Sides selected as new WDOC administrator |

Cheyenne – Wyoming Department of Corrections Director Bob Lampert announced today that Dawn Sides has been selected as the new Field Services Administrator for WDOC. Sides, currently the deputy administrator for prison support services since April 2008, will assume her new duties September 1. She has been with the department for 24 years. Seventeen of those years have been in positions of increasing responsibility in the prison division. Those responsibilities included being selected as Associate Warden at the Wyoming Women's Center, where she began her career as a correctional officer in July 1987, and Warden of the Wyoming Honor Farm from August of 2004 to April 2008. In her current capacity, Sides has overseen support services for the prison division that included the delivery of inmate health care; inmate programming and treatment; adult and vocational education; prison industries and work programs; inmate classification and case management; reentry; and other contractor provided offender service, including religious services. She has worked with the field services division leadership over the past several years, in particular with regards to risk assessment/case management and inmate transition and reentry efforts. She is familiar with the division leadership and goals. “I look forward to continuing efforts to innovate and strengthen the outstanding work in the division, while working seamlessly with the other divisions within the department to help make Wyoming a model for corrections operations in the country,” Sides said. “I am confident that she can quickly adjust to the demands of her new responsibilities thanks to the high quality of staff, supervisors and managers already in place in the field services division,” Lampert said. “She is strong leader and has the skills and background to truly excel in this position.” |
