Force feeding of inmate will continue |

MADISON — A state appeals court authorized Waupun Correctional Institution officials Thursday to continue force feeding an inmate on a year's-long hunger strike. The appellate judge also ordered a Dodge County Circuit Court judge to address how the nourishment is administered. Inmate Warren G. Lilly Jr. 60, began a hunger strike in 2003 soon after he began serving a 10-year sentence for substantial battery while armed with a dangerous weapon. Lilly stopped taking all solid food in May 2004 and the Department of Corrections obtained a court order permitting the forced feeding of Lilly under a doctor's care. Read More. |
