| Edwards selected as employee of the quarter |

Cheyenne – The Wyoming Department of Corrections Central Office has selected Michele (Shelley) Edwards as the Outstanding Employee of the First Quarter of 2011. She was nominated by peers and selected based on her continued exemplary performance. Edwards began employment on November 16, 2009 as a buyer in the fiscal/purchasing division for the Wyoming Department of Correction’s Central Office. “She is always patient and willing to assist with any of the problems that constantly arise,” her peers said in her nomination paperwork. “She listens to suggestions and researches to see if the suggestions are viable.” “She is readily available to answer any and all questions no matter how mundane,” they said. “She promptly and energetically answers any ‘call for help’ even as she tries to accomplish her own tasks.” In addition, Shelley was recognized for flexibility in dealing with various vendors while balancing challenging timelines and her support for all the facilities and offices as she travels to provide hands-on training. She previously worked for 13 years at the Laramie County School District in the buying/accounting division. She was a Certified Professional Public Buyer. She and her husband, Heber, have four children. |
