JUNEAU – The Alaska Department of Corrections has released online the 2010 Offender Profile which provides demographic information on individuals incarcerated in Alaska, out-of-state facilities, Community Residential Centers (CRCs), treatment facilities and on electronic monitoring (EM). The 65-page Offender Profile may be found in at: http://www.correct.state.ak.us/corrections/admin/docs/profile2010.pdf. It is in Portable Document Format (.pdf) and may be viewed, saved to a file or printed. The Offender Profile includes statistics on types of offenses, ethnicity, length of incarceration, age and gender. A separate section focuses on certain populations such as seniors (age 60 and over), youth (age 20 and under), substance abusers and sex offenders. In 2010 the Department of Corrections average daily inmate population was 5,743. |
