The Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office has assembled a speakers bureau featuring experts from various fields who offer useful and interesting information to residents of Norfolk County. The speakers are available free-of-charge through the Triad program overseen by Norfolk County Sheriff Michael G. Bellotti to deliver talks to groups interested in learning more about subjects including identity theft and credit card scams, how to check out certification and prior complaints against building contractors, healthy nutrition for seniors, Alzheimer’s disease and the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board. “Initially, we put together this speakers bureau with the idea of helping senior citizens by providing them with important information and good advice,” Sheriff Bellotti said. “But many of the subjects they cover are of interest to people across the age spectrum.” The Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office makes the speakers available to local councils on aging as well as other groups such Rotary clubs, chambers of commerce and various fraternal organizations. Among the speakers are representatives from South Shore Hospital, Visiting Angels of the South Shore, the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, the Governor’s Auto Theft Strike Force and the MBTA. “The speakers bureau is an example of public and private agencies working in partnership with the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office to effectively serve the public,” Sheriff Bellotti said. For a full list of speakers and their topics or to schedule an appearance, people may call the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office at 781-751-3516. |
