Former employee guilty of taken bribes |

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) - A former state worker, who admitted she was a crook, is now getting unemployment. According to federal court documents, Laurie Chapman, 50, has been on unemployment since March 2011. Chapman is the former facilities manager for the New Mexico Corrections Department. In July she pled guilty to accepting $237,000 in bribes after steering $4 million worth of roofing work on state prisons, to Omni Development. Chapman was fired from her job in February. Lawmakers are outraged she is now getting unemployment benefits. Read More. |
