Multiple DUI Offender On Work Release |

A man convicted of driving drunk multiple times is back on Douglas County streets. In June, a judge sentenced 37-year-old Mark Dahir to 2-3 years in prison. Dahir has been arrested 7 times for drunk driving and convicted on four of them. The most recent happened in February when Dahir, who was awaiting sentencing on a DUI, caused a wreck that seriously injured himself and the other driver at 132nd and Leavenworth. Authorities say he was on methamphetamine. He was recently transferred to Community Corrections Center Omaha which is across the street from the prison. He's on work release meaning he sleeps at the minimum security center, but can leave for work during the day. Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine is disappointed. Read More. |
