DEDHAM, MA – Norfolk County Sheriff Michael G. Bellotti announced today that a team of correction officers will take part in the upcoming Rodman Ride for Kids to benefit children throughout Massachusetts. Officers Marty Mulvey, Mike Ramponi and Patrick Weir will put their mettle to the pedals on Sept. 24 for the outstanding charity event, which has raised more than $46 million over the last 10 years for at-risk children across the state. “We’re proud to have officers from the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office involved in this great effort,” Sheriff Michael G. Bellotti said. “Through the incredible compassion and generosity of the residents of Massachusetts, the Rodman Ride for Kids is able to accomplish so much good for so many people each year.” Since its inception in 1991, the Rodman Ride for Kids has grown to become the third-biggest single day athletic fund-raiser in the nation, behind the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge and the AIDS Walk. All costs associated with the event are underwritten so that every cent of every donated dollar goes toward the deserving charities. Participants complete courses measuring, 25, 50 or 100 miles in length. Visit www.rodmanrideforkids.org to learn more about the event. |
