| Jail van filled with inmates gets sideswiped |

A van filled with inmates on their way to state prison was sideswiped early Monday. Officials said that although damage to the van was minimal, two inmates who claimed they had back pain were taken to an area hospital to be checked out as a precaution. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident that was reported at 6:47 a.m. in the 5400 block of Alachua County Road 225, which is the road past the Gainesville Raceway. Read More. |
